An IXTENT webinar entitled “Legislative Revolution in Treating Information Content” took place on 12 September 2017.
New EU legislation will come into effect from 25 May 2018, increasing the requirements on protection of citizens’ personal data and the duties of institutions and companies as to their protection. This important change in the European legislation (the GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation) will have a significant impact on the treatment of documents and protection of data contained in them.
From the legislation point of view, the general position of electronic documents and their credibility in legal acts continues to develop (the eIDAS regulation – Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions Regulation). The webinar consisted in presenting the technologies that are ready for these important changes, allowing companies to avoid the risk of destructive penalties for non-compliance with the duties imposed by these recent EU regulations.
