Efficient Way for Obtaining True Data

Electronic characters recognition is a highly efficient method of increasing the utility value of scanning. OCR/ICR is a technically demanding solution requiring special SW products. There are only a few companies and products worldwide offering high recognition success rate necessary for efficient processing of invoices or form data. Text recognition through scanning in combination with incoming documents archiving represents an ideal groundwork for subsequent work for example with enterprise ERP system, ECM solution of Document Management System type - sorting, approval workflow, information management based on the authorizations of individual employees, full-text search, and archiving.

IXTENT tailors the systems to suit the customer’s needs so that the result satisfies customer's maximal expectations – facilitating processing of large volumes of incoming unified documents – forms, invoices, speed increase, manual work share reduction, data mining from source documents, creation of prerequisites or direct management of data, links to other enterprise systems, etc. Suitable software solution is based on the estimated volume of scanned documents and on the need of data mining from the input documents. Input documents can be generally divided into structured, semi-structured, and non-structured.

Electronic recognition can be simply divided into individual partial components according to the mining specifics. The most popular method consists in OCR technology utilization for character-by-character recognition of the entire text. OCR is used for printed text mining, for subsequent text analysis, and for transfer of recognized characters to relevant encoding. Extension by ICR provides additional possibility of hand written text mining. OCR/ICR technologies can be primarily utilized for information mining from input documents and for subsequent linking of predefined information with electronic systems. However, full information mining can be useful also for subsequent Full-text search.

Solution Characteristics

The systems work on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP platforms. They support a broad number of scanners and they are hardware independent. It is possible to choose from a broad offer of communication with target systems, for example an external database connection over ODBC, XML files support, and, of course, also the text files formatted according to the specific requirements, etc. This enables flexible integration with the existing systems. The systems work both on a stand-alone PC, as well as in network environments.

As the matter of course, the solution supports mined characters recognition in all standard languages including Czech and Slovak.
